Cougars toppled by No. 1 Tulane
Though the Cougars made a solid run to reach the semifinals of the 2005 Conference USA Baseball Tournament, the nation's top-ranked team stopped them in their tracks as the Tulane Green Wave defeated the Cougars 10-1 Saturday at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field.
 

Men, women compete at NCAA Midwest Regionals
The UH track and field team was at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships over the weekend. The men's team placed sixth while the women finished 15th at the meet, which ended Saturday at John Jacobs Track.
 

Riches to rags: the ugly 2005 Astros
When the Houston Astros took that wild ride in the final two months of the 2004 season, going 36-10 to edge out an NL Wild Card berth and eventually coming within a few innings of their first World Series appearance, I never imagined I'd be watching them lose games in 2005 at a rate faster than Japan's Takeru Kobayashi eats hot dogs.
