Cougar News Staff

Today, it will become official.

Jay Gogue, who became UH president and UH System chancellor last September, will be officially inaugurated during a joint meeting of the four System faculty senates at noon in the Cullen Performance Hall.

The ceremony will be low-key compared with the formal investitures often held to install university presidents. Representatives of the UH, UH-Downtown, UH-Clear Lake and UH-Victoria faculty senates will speak, as will Student Government Association President Jon Quintanilla, Staff Council President Joe Papick, law professor Steven Huber and Vice President for Student Affairs Elwyn C. Lee.

Following Gogue's official inauguration, which will be conducted by UH System Board of Regents Chairwoman Morgan Dunn O'Connor, Gogue will present the annual State of the University address.

The ceremony is open to the UH community and admission is free. A webcast will be offered through the Faculty Senate's Web site,
