St. Louis, Memphis face off against Houston

Cougar Sports Services

Over the weekend, the Cougar soccer squad will be in Conference USA matches at Robertson Stadium.

Saint Louis will be coming into town on Friday to play at 7 p.m. and Memphis will be here Sunday to face Houston at 1 p.m. The Cougars are 9-1-1 against both teams since 1998, which includes a 6-0 record against Memphis.

When Houston faced Saint Louis last season, the Billikens took the match 1-0. However, when the Cougars took on the Tigers, UH trounced Memphis 1-0.

Following the weekend, the Cougars will have seven games left in regular season play. They will then go on the road to face conference foes for their next three games, visiting Texas Christian on Friday, DePaul on Oct. 15 and Marquette on Oct. 17. They then head to Dallas for their last non-conference game against Southern Methodist.

UH will then play host to South Florida on Oct. 22, Alabama-Birmingham on Oct. 24 and finish off with Charlotte on Oct. 29.

In the last 65 regular season games, the Cougars posted a 33-25-7 record against C-USA rivals. This year, the Cougars are 4-6-0 overall and 1-1-0 in conference play.
