Shuttles put early voting sites in reach

By Jim Parsons
The Daily Cougar

UH students now have one less reason not to vote.

The Division of Student Affairs is operating a free shuttle service this week between the campus and the early voting site at the Palm Center, 5300 Griggs Road. Shuttles will operate from 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. with stops at the University Center steps and the front drive of the Moody Towers.

Juanita Jackson, assistant to the vice president for student affairs, said only a few students used the service Monday, but several said they would take advantage of it today.

The shuttle is a Residential Life and Housing van, and a Health Center van is also available for those who need disability accommodations. Jackson said the accessible van may be scheduled by calling (713) 743-5390.

Jackson said she made two runs to the Palm Center Monday morning and found lines moving quickly. Early voting continues through 7 p.m. Friday.

For information on voting in Harris County, visit www.harrisvotes.com.
