OPINION

Thanks from a Louisiana native
I plead on behalf of my beloved home state that fellow students, teachers and friends help in any way possible to aid the disaster relief process that has already begun.

Stay strong in face of uncertainty
My heart goes out to the people whose lives Hurricane Katrina wrecked. I have volunteered at a local hospital and plan on volunteering much more in the coming months.

Storm unearths best, worst of mankind
In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, I am terrified. My heart is wrenching for the survivors and the dead, don't mistake me. But above all, I am terrified.
