Rita calls for emergency planning
The UH Emergency Management Committee met Tuesday to consider how the University should react to Hurricane Rita but have not yet decided if they will close University on Thursday or Friday.

Regarding the Sept. 19 editorial cartoon
It was surprising to find such a strong reaction to my editorial cartoon Monday. My intentions were not to offend any African-Americans, though I do understand how one could interpret it in such a way.
