Campus Spotlight

Love that Ong-bak: The Foreign Film Club will host a screening of Ong-bak: The Thai Warrior at 2 p.m. in the UC Satellite--s TV Lounge 1. For more information, visit

Kids these days: The Blaffer Gallery will host a reception for the Young Artist Apprenticeship Program from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The exhibition for the program, which features the work of seven high school students inspired by James Surls-- sculpture, will run from Saturday to Nov. 12. James Surls: The Splendora Years, 1977-1997 also runs through Nov. 12 in the Blaffer.


Let it bleed: UH Air Force ROTC will sponsor a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Parking Lot 15C (in front of Garrison Gym and next to Hofheinz Pavilion). Snacks and juice will be provided.


Oh snap: Shotokan Karate-Do will host a karate-do seminar Saturday and Sunday featuring two world-renowned martial artists. The seminar will run from 10 a.m. to noon and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to noon Sunday. Cost is $80 for college students. For more information on registration, visit
