Cougar can run with the best
Baytown native and UH athlete, senior Sesar Figueroa concluded his collegiate cross country career running a course in Terre Haute, Ind., on Monday, finishing 188th out of 253 competitors in the NCAA Championships.

Cougars begin season at home
Head coach Tom Penders and the men's basketball team begin the season with what looks to be two warm-up games, as they face off against the Florida Tech Golden Panthers at 7 p.m. today and the Virginia Commonwealth Rams at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Rockets get off to slow start
The Rockets had an exciting off-season where they made several important acquisitions. They were ranked as high as No. 2 in the Western Conference by many sports "experts."

Neighboring foes face off
Moving past Saturday's loss, the football team is aiming to take back the Bayou Bucket trophy against crosstown rival Rice, when they face off at 3 p.m. Saturday at Robertson Stadium for the final game of the season.
