Creative writing faculty present works

The latest installment of the University's Poetry & Prose reading series is at 5:30 today in The Honors College Commons. Readers slated for today's reading are faculty members of the University's Creative Writing Program.

Besides being an instructor in the Creative Writing Program, Antonya Nelson has written five short story collections, including Some Fun, and three novels: Talking in Bed, Nobody's Girl, and Living to Tell. Her first collection, The Expendables, won the coveted Flannery O'Connor Award for Short Fiction in 1990.

Karen Brennan, a visiting professor for the Creative Writing Program, has penned five books, which include fiction, poetry and non-fiction. Her most recent books are The Real Enough World, a collection of poems, and The Garden in Which I Walk, a work of fiction.
